Today, June 20, 2016, I turn 21 and today is also the day that is the start of my 365 day challenge. I am on the constant quest for who I am and today is a significant day, not only because of what 21 means in the American culture, being able to buying liquor, but I find it that as of recent (very recent), at this time, I am able to actually sum up myself in a manner that I never had to in years past. I'm Isaac, the kid with the 5 letter name, I'm an Artist, Student, and Explorer; I don't think there has ever been a point in my life where I can say what I am without hesitation. Those three words represent what I see myself doing for the rest of my life, always trying to improve my craft, learning the life lessons that life has to offer, and exploring every which way possible is able to offer, so long as I still have my health. I decided to start this 365 because I feel like I need to practice my craft everyday, I have to get better, and there is no excuse -- I have the world at my fingertips with the internet, along with a camera with me at all times. I have attempted a 365 project twice in a row, but this time I know it's different; I'm starting a new chapter in my life after tomorrow, as I finish my Junior College experience, with a Cum Laude and have the ability to pursue higher education -- a privilege any of my ancestors never had at the University of California, Davis this fall-- an achievement that two years ago was a goal that I planned to achieve . I am ready to embark on another quest, and I want to share it with the people that take time out of their day to see my craft, even if it's just for a second. This 365 is to put a spotlight on myself, not in the sense of being braggadocios, but to hold myself accountable. Today is day 1 and I have no idea where day 365 will take me and that's okay.
